I was on a dating outing at Santa Monica with a bunched friends from West Coast Baptist Colleege this past semester and took some time aside with my girlfriend to pray for my dad. He had been diagnosed with a detached retina a week or so earlier. The doctors inserted an air bubble into his eye to hold the detached piece in place while hopefully healed. If this procedure had not worked by the time my dad went for the checkup he would have gone directly into surgery.
Whatever happened I wanted to make sure I was praying at that time. We spent a few minutes in prayer on the beach there, thanking God for past prayers answered and and asking Him to have His will in this situation, but specifically praying that my dad would be fine and not need surgery.
No less than five minutes later I got a text from my mom saying "Doctors said dad's fine. No surgery."
Praise the Lord for answered prayers.
